Marilyn August LCSW, is retired from a hemophilia Pharmaceutical company, and prior to that worked for a Hemophilia Specialty pharmacy. Marilyn is also a clinical license social worker, having worked at Phoenix Children's Hemophilia Center for 20 years.
Marilyn continues to be active in the Bleeding Disorders Community and has volunteered at several camps and fundraising events, including Camp Honor, Camp Hemotion, Camp Koko Ohana, and Camp Chosen Frozen. She has served as a camp director, Camp co-director, camp counselor and program director.
She loves hiking and the outdoors and has led several nature and out-camp programs, including a raft trip in Arizona. She also volunteered at the AHA Salsa Challenge, the HFNC Crab Feed, and the HCC Coastal Ride. Marilyn was on the NHF Social Work Working Group for several years and was awarded the National Hemophilia Foundation's Social Worker of the Year Award in 2000.
